Raise your glasses to Seattle Spurs!

Seattle Spurs has raised a large amount of money for local charity Street Soccer Seattle through its special edition ‘London Calling’ beer.

Teaming up with local brewery, Reuben’s Brews, and Seattle Sounders supporters group Gorilla FC, the English Pale Ale was produced to mark Tottenham Hotspur’s visit to the city as part of the US & Canada Tour in July.

‘London Calling’ was launched with a ‘tapping the cask’ ceremony, attended by Ledley King, at the brewery, and was a hit with locals throughout the week – especially Spurs fans!

The beer was on sale at the George & Dragon pub on the night Ledley, Steffen Freund and Kasey Keller attended for a special Q&A event for supporters ahead of our pre-season friendly with the Sounders.

And the result – $874.76 raised for Street Soccer Seattle, that aims to use the game to empower homeless youth and adults in the city through skills that support the development of participants on and off the field.

Seattle Spurs is one of 30 Official Supporters Clubs that Tottenham Hotspur has across North America – more than any other Premier League club – and one of over 100 worldwide in 40 different countries.

Adam Robbings, Seattle Spurs member and owner of Reuben’s Brews, said: "London Calling was a wonderful collaboration of community and football that benefited a great cause.

“Ledley King coming to the brewery and tapping the cask was one of the high points in our history, a truly amazing time.

“Thanks to everyone involved, and especially the Club for supporting its fans on the other side of the world!"
