Rafa van der Vaart said it was a positive sign to see the lads so disappointed at conceding a late equaliser in Saturday's 1-1 draw at Swansea.
The flying Dutchman bagged his eighth goal of the season to put the team 1-0 up just before half-time at the Liberty Stadium.
We looked like we might just grab a key second goal as we dominated the early exchanges of the second half.
But the Swans - who have now lost one in 10 at home - turned the game around, pushed us back, created chances and eventually equalised when Scott Sinclair tapped home six minutes from time.
Neverthless, we enter 2012 in third place in the Premier League and on a current run of 12 wins, three draws and just one defeat in our last 16.
"It was disappointing to lose a goal just before the end of the game," admitted Rafa. "But I think Swansea did well, they try to play, try to build-up and maybe they were the better team at the end.
"They have some great players and you can see they must work every day on possession and passing. I was impressed, compliments to them.
"The fact we’re disappointed is also a good sign. Perhaps a couple of years ago Tottenham would be happy with a draw on this occasion but we know we can do more.
"It's been a great first half of the season though and we have lots to look forward to."
