Pritch ready for world stage
Alex Pritchard is ready for a ‘fantastic experience’ at the Under-20 World Cup in Turkey.
The skilful forward flew out with team-mate Harry Kane and the Young Lions to their training base in Antalya on Wednesday morning to begin final preparations for the tournament.
England take on Iraq in their first group game on Saturday, June 23 followed by Chile on June 26 and Egypt on June 29. There are six groups of four teams with the top two and four third-placed teams with the best record progressing to the last 16.
The tournament kicks-off on June 21.
“It’s a real honour to have been called up and now I have to concentrate, work hard and see what happens,” said Alex, who scored 10 goals in 15 games for our Under-21 and NextGen teams and made his league debut in the Championship on loan at Peterborough United last season.
“It’s a fantastic experience and the chance to play against the best players in the world at this age group.
“I’ve taken plenty of positives from the season, especially making my debut in the Championship and to play a part in this tournament would really cap it.”
