Pride at stake

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Scandinavian pride is at stake on opposite flanks at Anfield on Saturday.

Our Swedish full-back Erik Edman looks likely to line-up against Norway's John-Arne Riise in the Premier League encounter.

Erik was quick to point out that there was a big rivalrly between the Scandinavian countries. "There certainly is," he smiled. "To be honest, the Danes are more our enemies than Norway, we haven't really played them lately.

"I suppose everyone in Italy think we are brothers after we drew 2-2 in Euro 2004 (Sweden drew 2-2 against Denmark and Italy were knocked out) but we definitely are not!"

Riise was an instant hit at Anfield with his raids down the left side and a ferious shot - most memorably for Reds' fans, hammering a free-kick past Manchester United in his first season, as well as a goal at Goodison Park against Everton.

He bagged eight goals that term, another eight in 2002-03 and after a blank last season, has already notched nine this campaign.

"He came over from Monaco where he was on the bench a lot of the time and made a big impression at Liverpool," added Erik.

"He's scored some really nice goals, he's strong and has a great cross. He also has a great work rate. He's done really well at Anfield."

Meanwhile, Erik is looking forward to stepping out at one of England's most famous arenas. "It's a new experience for me," he added. "If I get the chance to play it will be tremendous, I would have played in all the big stadiums. I want that in my record book!"
