Premier League are redistributive champions of Europe

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

An independent report by football finance experts, Deloitte and Touche, has revealed that the Premier League and its Clubs redistribute almost £70 million a year outside of the league — a figure that equates to in excess of 12% of the Premier League’s domestic broadcast income.

Premier League Chief Executive, Richard Scudamore, said: “The Premier League has always strived to offer a model of redistribution both within the league and outside of it.

“Any debate on redistribution throws up competing claims and varying suggestions, however we genuinely believe that the systems we have in place offer the best outcomes when the debate is considered as a whole.

“Our structures of redistribution internally, again the most redistributive of the major European leagues, have provided the basis for 12 years of growth and success maintaining a competitive balance throughout the league, whilst allowing our top Clubs to compete with their European counterparts.

“The Deloitte and Touche report proves categorically that we are the best in our class in terms of outside redistribution. The nigh on £70 million that goes out of the Premier League every season is invested in the grass roots of the game through the Football Foundation, pays for Football League Youth Development programmes and funds the Professional Footballers’ Association and all the good work they do.

“In addition our Clubs participation in the FA and Carling Cups helps drive revenue throughout the league structure and the wider game.

“The Premier League’s involvement in a raft of community, education and social inclusion is included in the Deloitte and Touche figures and this contribution cannot be underestimated. As the key delivery partner across government departments and in conjunction with organisations like The Prince’s Trust the Premier League is using the power of football as a force for good across society as well as in the communities that sustain the game.”
