Praise for getting Fredi ready
Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
Glenn Hoddle dished out the praise to our medical staff after revealing that Fredi Kanoute was borderline before making a stunning impact on his debut against Leeds United on Saturday.
The striker had been troubled by an abductor problem for the last fortnight after joining us from West Ham.
But the medical staff worked around the clock to get him right for Saturday and it was all worth it when the Frenchman unleashed a magnificent overhead kick to secure three deserved points.
The backroom team certainly earned their praise with Dean Richards and Ledley King back after missing all of pre-season - they only returned to reserve team football on Tuesday - and Bobby Zamora able to put in an hour stint despite being trouble by a groin problem all week.
Glenn explained: "Fredi was close to not being involved but the medical lads have worked hard on him.
"It was a gut feeling on Thursday. We had a practice match where he played and he looked good.
"On the Friday driving in I said to our physios Ali (Beattie) and Chic (Wilkinson) that we needed to talk about the situation and Fredi was up for it.
"He was up for half and hour and he looked as if he'd been here for two seasons. I was delighted for him."
