Positives for Joe

Joe Jordan will take the positives from Sunday's loss against United.

First team coach Joe - a feared striker for United during his playing career - reflected on the team's disappointment at the 3-1 defeat when he spoke to us afterwards.

Having dominated the first half, we suffered a real kick in the teeth as Wayne Rooney headed United into the lead in the 45th minute.

We hit back at the start of the second half but couldn't find a goal and were then hit by the hammer blow of United's second from Ashley Young on the hour.

Young's curler secured the points for United at 3-0 after 69 minutes before Jermain Defoe's late consolation.

"Anyone associated with Tottenham will look at that result with disbelief," said Joe.

"The scoreline doesn’t give a true reflection of the game. We lost, but the performance of the team for the majority of the game was first class.

"Talk to the United camp and they’ll give you a similar opinion.

"I thought we dominated, not an easy thing to do against United, but we did that, no mean feat.

"It’s disappointing because when you put so much effort into a game you want the reward, but we didn’t get that.

"We’ve got to carry on and take the positives because other than the result, there were quite a few."
