Positives for Jan

Jan Vertonghen believes the players are learning from mistakes after stretching our unbeaten run to 10 matches in the Premier League with a 3-1 win against Villa on Monday night.
The Belgian international marked his 100th Premier League appearance for us with three points thanks to goals from Mousa Dembele, Dele Alli and Harry Kane.
There were echoes of the draw against Stoke at the Lane earlier in the season when we were comfortable and 2-0 up before Stoke rallied for 2-2 when Villa replied to make it 2-1 on 79 minutes, but we took control again to add a third.
“It was a good win,” said Jan. “We started well, kept playing our game, looked very solid. We scored a great goal just before half-time and that capped a very good first half.
“At half-time we went over the game we had against Stoke where we played well, 2-0 up and then drew 2-2. After they scored we were a bit nervous but I don’t think we were in big trouble.
“Our group has a very good mentality. We try to push each other every time again and again.
“I think we’re learning from our mistakes at the beginning of the season. We’re 10 unbeaten now, we could have had more points, that’s how it goes, but after 11 games we can be happy with our performances.
"We’re improving and looking good.”
