Positive news on Irish duo
Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
David Pleat hasn't ruled either Stephen Carr or Gary Doherty out of Saturday's big clash against Chelsea at the Lane.
Both returned from Irish duty injured. Stephen came home early after feeling a slight problem in his knee while big Doc fell awkwardly in the second half of the 2-1 win against the Czech Republic and had to be stretchered off with an ankle injury.
Both were back at Spurs Lodge today and the news was fairly positive.
Acting boss David reported: "Stephen Carr put club before country by returning when he felt his knee injury and hopefully he'll now have a chance on Saturday which he wouldn't have had if he'd played for Ireland.
"Gary Doherty's back, bright mentally but obviously needs some treatment and we'll wait as late as Saturday afternoon to see whether or not he'll be a hero for us.
"I'm delighted he played centre-half and played well - Kohler isn't the easiest centre-forward to mark and he did well."
