Positive break for Kasey

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Kasey Keller says the team headed into the enforced two-week break in a positive frame of mind following the 4-1 win over Sunderland.

With no games until the Monday night encounter against Fulham at the Lane on February 24, the USA international felt that a win was imperative on Saturday.

"Especially going into a break, it is always nice to go out on a win," said Kasey.

"In the last five games we have picked up some points and are right in the hunt again. With 11 games left we will kick on from here.

"Obviously we slipped up at home against Newcastle and we wanted get back to it being a fortress and we did exactly that."

Kasey had against Sunderland what he would describe as one of his 'mopping up' days. Nothing spectacular, just clearing his lines and marshalling the defensive unit - one which he feels was slightly off the pace.

"It was exactly that. I had a lot of balls to clear up on the edge of the box and things of that nature.

"These are the days I like, I had a couple of saves but nothing that troubled me too much. The one that troubled me the most was called back for offside. It was a good day.

"We were probably a bit off at the back, Deano hasn't been able to train as much as he would like to, but it is always nice to have him there. I would say we were about a quarter of a step off at the back from really having super performance."

Kasey's potential clean sheet was denied by Kevin Phillips' first half leveller, when every player, bar the striker, appeared to suspect there was an offside.

"It was a weird one. We kinda stopped thinking it was offside and it slipped in from the far side. I was really covering the shot and it was one of those balls that was a cross shot and you wonder what is going to happen.

"You try to do half and half. It was like slow motion, he looked at me and then the linesman before popping it in.

"It was a borderline decision that could have gone either way and you can't really argue. It was a shame and was the only real bad part of the performance."
