Point taken, but Jol feels like two taken away

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Martin Jol was proud of his players and pleased with a point - but couldn't hide his disappointment after the 'goal' that wasn't in Tuesday night's draw at Old Trafford.

Paul Robinson and Ledley King led another superb defensive display against United, the goalless draw stretching our run to six wins and two draws in our last eight matches in the Barclays Premiership.

But all the talk afterwards was on the failure of the officials to award a goal when United keeper Roy Carroll dropped Pedro Mendes' spectacular lob from the halfway line a yard over his own goalline.

Linesman Rob Lewis did not signal the goal and referee Mark Clattenburg waved play on. It was soon being described as the most controversial moment of the season.

Staying with the game though, Head Coach Martin reflected: "In the end we could have had three points and should have had three points.

"To be honest, we were satisfied with the draw because they had us under pressure but I think we did well.

"We played well, didn't create a lot but defended well. If you come to Old Trafford you have to make it a fortress to get a clean sheet and I think we did that.

"After the game I saw the situation on the television and I was a bit surprised.

"You can all remember the World Cup Final in 1966, that was difficult for the referee but this wasn't a couple of centimetres, this was a metre.

"We had problems with Defoe, Kanoute, Brown, Atouba and it was always going to be difficult with Robbie up front on his own. If you have a 0-0 draw at Manchester United, perhaps the most you can do. But if you realise you could have had three points, maybe it's disappointing.

"It's all in the game and if I can use a cliche, 'you win some, you lose some'."
