Martin Jol said he could 'live with a draw' after we shared the spoils with Birmingham City at St Andrews on Saturday.
Stephen Kelly - who came on for injured Noe Pamarot after just 12 minutes - handed us the lead in the 58th minute with his first goal for the club only for Darren Carter to equalise eight minutes later. That's how it stayed.
City keeper Maik Taylor produced two fine saves within 30 seconds to deny substitute Mido and Fredi Kanoute but the home side could have taken maximum points when Julian Gray nodded back for Clinton Morrison to volley just 10 yards out in injury time - thankfully, his effort sailed inches past the post.
"They have a good record at home and it's not an easy place to come," reflected Martin. "A lot of teams would be satisfied with a with a draw here but we needed a win and I think we were a bit better than them.
"We wanted to take the game to them because we never hide, we always try to support when we go forward and the result was a full-back scoring away from home.
"We then needed a second goal and didn't manage it. The goal they scored looked a bit awkward, it wasn't really chance and he went through three or four players.
"We then had two terrific chances and I thought the first one from Mido was a goal. It was an unbelievable header but he managed to save it. But then they had a great chance at the end of the game, so I can live with a draw
"There were some good things but when you look at their goal you know we have to concentrate for 90 minutes and not concede that type of goal."
