+Welcome break for the middlemen
Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
Martin Jol feels the international break has provided a welcome period of inactivity for the likes of the Michaels - Brown and Carrick.
The midfield pair have made 27 and 25 starts respectively this season with virtually all of them coming since November as they featured little in the opening months of the campaign. Martin Jol rarely altered what appears to be his favoured central axis and, with the duo not called up for England duty, the last ten days has given them the chance to recharge their energy levels for the closing weeks of the season.
"Most of the lads are on international duty and we have only six or seven lads from the full squad here," reflected the Head Coach after training on Easter Monday. "We have trained well, they had a couple of days off last week and since then we have worked hard.
"It is only a break for some of the lads as most of our players are internationals. You don't know how they will come back and we will only have a short time to work before the Birmingham game. It is not ideal but every club has to deal with it.
"For the lads not on duty it has been a good break from games - people like Brown and Carrick. Brownie had a little holiday abroad for a couple of days, Carrick needed some rest and they are fine again and look good in training.
"We will now just wait for the lads to come back and get ready for Birmingham. It is always difficult, we have a reserve game on on Wednesday and you have to take into consideration that a couple of players might come back injured.
"We have enough players though, good players, and I can't imagine that too many will come back with injuries."
