+Sean: Good to be back
Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
Sean Davis says it was a welcome first team comeback for him against Charlton on Wednesday, although he concedes the circumstances were hardly ideal.
The midfielder had been out with a knee problem since the Fulham game at the end of October that required surgery - a major blow for the 25-year-old who made such a promising start to his Spurs career.
He made his return as a substitute at the Valley in place of Michael Carrick with the team a goal down, but could not influence our fortunes and Charlton added a second with five minutes remaining.
"It was nice to be back but, under the circumstances, it wasn't a good night for the team," sighed Sean at Spurs Lodge admitting, however, that to get out there playing in the Premiership again was a weight off his shoulders.
"Yes, but it is going to be hard because Browny and Carra are doing well and it might take time to get back in.
"I'm still quite a way off compared to where I was at the beginning of the season. You need games to regain that, training can be hard, but you do need first team games.
"It was my first game under Martin as Head Coach and it felt good to be out there, rather than in the treatment room.
"I have got to bide my time, I know I am not going to go straight back into the first team. I just have to try and work hard in training, although I am not the best of trainers. If I get my chance I will try and take it.
"My knee is not too bad, I feel it now and again and they said that is likely until the end of the season. I just have to get on with it."
Sean insists under no circumstances is he prepared just to write off this campaign, even though he has missed such a large chunk of it.
"I am a positive person and I want to play as many games as I can between now and the end of the season. I want to help the team try and push on into a high place. No way am I going to write it off."
