+Robbo's Diary

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Paul Robinson gives his thoughts exclusively to Spurs Lodge...

IT WAS a disappointing performance against Manchester United, particularly the first half. It was similar to Liverpool in that we didn't play well in the first half but came out and showed what we can do in the second half. In the end we were disappointed not to get anything out of the game.

PEOPLE kindly point out that I made a few saves but that's what I'm there for. That's my job. Hopefully I won't have to make too many saves. We didn't play too badly, first half was disappointing, dubious penalty that could have gone either way and we could have got a draw out of the game. It's a measure of how far this team has come that we're disappointed not to take points off Manchester United.

WE'VE got Everton on Saturday and that will be equally as tough as United. They are flying, picking up points from everywhere and first of all we've got to go there and silence the crowd, be solid at the back as we have been and hopefully get a couple of goals at the other end. The personel is the same as last season, they've brought in a couple of players and everyone was writing them off at the start of the season, saying they were in crisis when Rooney was on his way. But they've proved everyone wrong and it will be a very tough game for us. Every game in the Premiership is difficult, every team has good players and on the day anyone can beat anyone. Everton are on a good run of form at the moment and it will be particularly difficult to play them at Goodison Park.

NIGEL MARTYN is in goal for Everton. He's a great goalkeeper and a great man. I ended up taking his place at Leeds but we stayed the best of friends. I can't fault him and he's one of the nicest men you could ever meet. He helped me a lot. We had a goalkeeping coach at Leeds but being with someone like Nigel every day you can't help but learn from him. He's a quality professional.

IT'S international week again next week and hopefully I'll be in the England squad again, hopefully I'll play. We play Wales at Old Trafford, a difficult game and everyone said as soon as the group was drawn that the home nations against each other would be tough. It will be very enjoyable. Every kid growing up dreams of playing for their country and to run out at Old Trafford in front of all the England fans playing for your country in such a big game is a massive achievement.
