I WAS PLEASED to be able to make the penalty save against Spain last week because it was never a penalty! The ball was going out towards the corner flag after I got two hands on the ball.
If you looked at Raul, he got up and ran over to take the corner. I couldn't believe it and was really pleased to save it. I had an inkling of the way it would go, he put the ball down and I just went and got lucky.
The goal that won the game for Spain though was a horrible goal, a scrappy goal.
The taunts from the home crowd has detracted from the performance we put on, probably fortunately for us. The racism stuff was a disgrace and there is no place for that in football.
We thought that was out of the game, hopefully in this country it is, although it seems to have reared its ugly head again. People like that shouldn't be allowed into football grounds.
People have said it sounded awful on television, but you don't hear it all on TV and you can only imagine how bad it was inside the stadium. The players coped well with it and, to be fair, there is not a lot you can do except say how disgusting it is.
It is up to other parties - UEFA, FIFA or whoever gets involved with it - to deal with it and hopefully do something about it. For us as players, other than speaking out against it, there is not much else we can do.
I THINK ASTON VILLA were there for the taking on Monday night. They were on a good run of form and we weren't, but at the beginning of the second half we started brightly, looked threatening and had a couple of chances.
We let it slip again though and unfortunately we lost. We started to dominate the game and they scored when we were on top - the pattern of the game changed from then.
I've talked to a few people about the goal, Solano shouldn't have had the time to take two or three chances six yards away from goal. We need to come back from that now.
I made a few saves and that could be a good thing for me, but mostly I want to get back to keeping clean sheets and us winning games. I'm there to do a job and hopefully I'm doing it to the best of my ability. I would love another clean sheet soon and it is time I had one.
WE HAVE LOST six Premiership games in a row now and it has been difficult. We have had a change of Head Coach, a change of routine and hopefully we can start picking up points again soon.
It is not a big burden at the moment but, if we don't start winning games soon, it could become a problem.
The training is sharp, everyone is in good spirits - we just need to get that point or win that will start us off and hopefully it will just snowball from there.
MIDDLESBROUGH ARE NEXT and they are doing very well - it will be a very tough game. They are high in the league and in good form, but we've got to make White Hart Lane a very difficult place to come again.
I always remember when I was a Leeds player, it was a very difficult place to come and play. If you came away with anything you were esctatic.
We've got to make it like that again - a very difficult place for away teams to visit.
I'll come up against another couple of former teammates on Sunday - Mark Viduka and Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink.
'Vidukes' is a great player, as is Jimmy, two quality players. We need to keep them quiet and pick up the points for ourselves.
Jimmy will shoot given any space and Vidukes is very much the same, both of them have got very quick feet and, given a yard or two, they will put a shot in.
