+Mido's dream comes true
Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
Mido pondered last week that it would be a dream to score in his first game for Spurs at the Lane - his dream became a glorious reality against Portsmouth on Saturday.
The Egyptian striker told the official site: "I'm dreaming of scoring a goal in my first game." It took 34 minutes for this to come true when he headed home an inviting cross from Simon Davies to level matters following Diomansy Kamara's opener for Pompey.
It soon became a dream double for the 21-year-old recruit from Roma, who applied the finishing touch to Jermain Defoe's handiwork down the right side of the area before Robbie Keane added a deserved gloss to the scoreline.
"It is the best thing you can feel in your life when you are living your dreams," explained Mido when reminded of his pre-match sentiments. "I had a very difficult period at Roma where I was unable to prove what I could do and Tottenham have given me this opportunity.
"I had to repay them and the best way to do this is to help the team back into the game again after going a goal down. It was very important to us to win - a very important three points."
Mido went on to pay tribute to the fans for their unswerving support when the team fell behind and said he already feels very at home in his new footballing environment.
"The people are great, they were behind the team even when we were losing and that is why we could come back. Even when I entered the stadium with no people before the game I had a great feeling about it. It is just a good start for me and I hope I can continue.
"I can fit into this way of playing football. I can play with my head and fit into the Premier League.
"I knew it, every time I have watched games I have felt I can play here. As I said though, it is only the first game, I am very happy I have had a good start and now I have to work well with my teammates to win more games.
"It is always easy to adapt to good players and Jermain is a very good one. It is very difficult to adapt to a bad player, but Jermain and the others are really talented and that is why it was easy for me."
The dream debut very nearly didn't happen after Mido picked up a groin injury in training late last week and he underwent a late fitness test before being declared fit to play.
"The medical staff did a great job and worked very hard with me on Friday and did very well. In the second half I had a little pain and now I will rest a little bit to get ready for my next game."
