Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

It was a shock to the staff and the players when Jacques left the club on Friday and the only thing we could do was have a chat with the players on the morning of the Charlton game. I think in the first half you could see that maybe they were still in a bit of shock.

I haven't experienced a first half like that, Charlton were good and sharp, but we hoped for a better showing. At the beginning of the second half we had great ambitions and were eager to get things right, then it went to 3-0.

As a coach you are very worried, I told the players before the game that they have to show our public what they can do and make them happy. That is what you have to do in football, don't just make yourself happy, make the crowd happy.

In the last 35 minutes they showed a good reaction and it could easily have been a draw in the end. We were a bit unlucky with the referee not giving us another penalty.

We switched to 4-3-3 in the second half but didn't change the system before the game as we didn't want to change everything overnight. It is impossible to have a night's sleep and go out and do totally different things.

We have played like this all season - a 4-4-2 system - and the only change we made was Robbie Keane for Reto Ziegler on the left.

You never look dangerous when the opposition are 2-0 up but we didn't play well in the first half and looked tired and in a sort of shock. We can't have that, Jacques was important, but the club is more important. We have to move on.

In the second half I saw a different Spurs.

Michael Carrick did very well when he came on and everybody knows that Michael is a big talent. I feel he can become our fourth England player.

Pedro Mendes is in his position and he is a good 'No.4'. They have to fight it out between them to determine which person gets the spot, but I was very pleased with Michael and he showed what a good footballer he is.
