+Leds spreads the credit
Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
Ledley King was quick to play down the suggestion that a big part of the positive beginning to the season is down to the defence playing at the top of their collective game.
Many pundits tipped Spurs to struggle in the opening weeks of the season when first Liverpool and then Newcastle were allotted as our opponents in the first two games. A highly creditable four points were gathered from those encounters, followed by a further five from the games against West Brom, Birmingham and Norwich.
A feature of all those games was, whatever the pressure, our back line never really looked like buckling as Phil Ifil - then Noe Pamarot - Noureddine Naybet, Ledley King and Erik Edman stood very firm.
According to Ledley, there is much more to it than the defence battening down the hatches.
"I don't think that is fair to say, we have got some great defenders, but it is the team thing as well," said the England international.
"We are all pulling together and the team spirit is really good. It is fair to say we've looked a lot more steady this season, with two clean sheets and that is a great start.
"Hopefully we can pick it up again after the little break and carry on."
Meanwhile, Ledley concedes that the start to the season has taken him slightly by surprise as he anticipated the new players taking a little longer to bed in.
"Definitely, there has been a lot of new players come in and I don't think we expected it to click into place as soon as it has.
"The lads have dug deep and showed a great team spirit already."
