+Happy reading for Reidy
Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
Andy Reid quickly agreed that seeing our name on top of the Premiership table makes for particularly pleasant reading.
The boys hit top spot following the 2-0 win over Middlesbrough in the first home game of the new season on Saturday and retained the position after Sunday's two games. We are one of four teams on maximum points from two games, sitting all the prettier on goal difference.
Your correspondent waved a copy of the standings in front of Reidy in the tunnel after the game and, although he was clearly already in possession of the knowledge, he couldn't help but grab the piece of paper just to see it in black and white!
"It does make good reading, to be honest, and it is nice to be top of the table!" smiled the Republic of Ireland international. "It doesn't count for anything at this stage of the season but we can't do any more than what we've done.
"We've got six points, we haven't conceded a goal and we are playing some good football. At the start of the season you look to get as many points as you can and we'll look to the next game now, which will be a tricky one for us at Blackburn on Wednesday.
"They are decent at home and will make things difficult for us, but it is up to us to go there and try and continue the good run and good start we have made."
Bringing him back to the Boro encounter, the 23-year-old conceded it was a hard-fought victory secured with a moment of magic and a bit of luck.
"We did work hard, we knew before the game that we would have to because they are a quality side with a lot of good players. They worked extremely hard and we had to match their workrate at least and hope our quality would shine through. That is what happened.
"It was a great goal and you kind of come to expect it from Jermain. Of course we got a bit of luck with the second one from Mido which was a massive boost for us at the time.
"It was nice to get that bit of luck as there were times last season where we maybe didn't get it. We got this time and were thankful for it and it is now back to work for the game on Wednesday."
