+Erik ready for Blues battle
Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
Erik Edman is looking forward to engaging in combat once more with Jesper Gronkjaer when Birmingham City travel to the Lane on Saturday.
The two went head-to-head during the Scandinavian skirmish between Sweden and Denmark in Euro 2004 and it will be an early reunion for the pair down the Birmingham right in the Premiership clash.
"I had a great battle with him against Denmark so I am not planning to give him anything on the day!" said Erik, who hopes to be pressing the Dane into defensive duties on the day as he seeks to show more of his attacking nature than he has been able to display already.
"I want to be more offensive, but first we want to be sure in defence. When the moment comes I want to go forward.
"When we are bossing a game at home my offensive play will come more and more. Hopefully on Saturday against Birmingham, if I get to play, I can show a little bit more."
Erik admitted that Wednesday's encounter with West Brom at the Hawthorns was played with a pace and intensity he has not come across before, adding that he feels there is much more to come from his own game as he adjusts to the new environment.
"It is a lot tougher here than in Holland so I've got to get used to it.
"So far the West Brom one is certainly the hardest and quickest game I've played in. I think sometimes we would have liked to have been a bit more patient with the ball, but we have two good strikers up there and this type of game can suit us sometimes. With a bit of luck we would have won.
"I'm quite happy so far, I know I have more inside me and I know I can play better. I'm new here and I have to get used to the way of playing and get used to the boys.
"We have a lot of young, new players and we can be quite happy with the way we have started the season."
