+Emil doing fine

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

It has been a case of slowly but surely for Emil Hallfredsson as the now Iceland international gets used to life in his new environment.

The powerfully built left-sided player has made big strides over the last week or so, winning his first cap for the full Iceland side against Italy before scoring his first goal in Spurs colours for the reserves against Derby County last Wednesday.

Emil joined from FH Hafnarfjordur in his homeland during the January transfer window and reports that, on and off the pitch, things are gradually coming together for him.

"I'm feeling pretty good," he considered this week. "I'm settling down slowly, have now got everything in my flat and my family have been coming over.

"My football has been coming along I think. I don't think I started very well but I am improving. I've only played two games in my position on the left wing, I've been playing across the midfield and trying to get used to the football.

"It is pretty hard, I came to a new country and didn't know anybody. I left all my friends and family in Iceland and it is kind of difficult, but I am getting used to it all now and I'm feeling good these days. I think I am improving and getting by okay with my English.

"The football is played much faster here than in Iceland. On a personal level I think I can do much better. I will try and improve and get better for the team."

Emil went on to reveal the sequence of events that saw him return to England from under-21 duty to playing his part as Iceland secured a 0-0 draw away to Italy in Padova.

"I was at home cooking my meal and I got a call from the national coach saying he had a few injured players and I needed to come in the morning. I said I would be there!

"It was great, the atmosphere was amazing - especially when 30,000 were singing Italy's national anthem. I've never seen anything like that and it was a good experience for me."
