+Clive's quality control
Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
Clive Allen was pleased with the football his reserve played despite being hauled back for a 2-2 draw after leading 2-0 against West Ham on Tuesday night.
The first half was as good as it's been all season against a strong Hammers outfit and rewarded with goals from Mark Yeates and Jamie Slabber.
However, a controversial penalty call against Dean Marney after 70 minutes and a header from a free-kick seven minutes later was enough to earn West Ham a point - Rob Burch saving Jamie's last-minute penalty.
"What we showed was good quality," said Development Coach Clive. "We've worked on that quality in the final third, Yeatesy was very bright in the first half, scored a great goal and then did what we all know he's capable of, drawing in defenders and playing a great ball to Slabs, who finished well.
"At that point I was very happy but this game can kick you in the teeth.
"It's disappointing but sometimes you have to step back and look at the whole picture and I genuinely believe we deserved the three points, we didn't get them, so now we have understand the reasons why."
