+Carrick on winning feeling

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Michael Carrick insists the team can do little more than their return of six points from two games, but he is still hoping for a continued improvement against Blackburn next time out.

Being top of the league - although overhauled by Manchester City on Tuesday - before the tables used to be even published obviously counts for little at this stage of the new campaign. That said, Michael rightly points out that he would rather have the points in the bank than play catch-up once the Premiership takes shape four or five games in.

"It is a good start, but that is all it is after only a couple of games," considered the England international. "We’ve done as much as we can and now must move on and keep trying to improve.

"We would much rather have six points now than not have them. We can only deal with what is in front of us and we have won both games. We’re aiming to win the next one and go from there.

"You want to have a good start, get the points on the board early and it gives you a chance. We’re doing that now and we’ll see where it takes us, I would much rather have them now than have to make up ground as we go along."

Meanwhile, Michael reflected on his first start alongside Edgar Davids against Middlesbrough and reported it was a favourable experience for all.

"It was good, I thought everyone played really well. He is a world class player and I think the fans saw how good he is. I hope it continues with everyone playing well.

"I think everyone plays their own game and he obviously does his bit. He won a lot of tackles for us and it all worked out quite well."

Michael concluded by agreeing the presence of the seasoned Dutchman can only help himself and the others in the squad in taking the next step towards becoming more complete players.

"I think so and I think everyone can help each other. That is the way it has been going since I have been at the club. There are a lot of young boys here and we all try to help but, from people with a bit more experience, it is good to take a bit of a lead from them.

"You try and take things on board as much as you can."
