+Calum at the double

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Calum Davenport is looking forward to the prospect of furthering his England under-21 career in the double-header against Wales and Germany.

England and Germany lead Group 6 of the UEFA European Championship qualifying and the top two teams enter the play-offs to determine which eight nations reach the finals next summer.

Calum captained the team in the second half last time out in the friendly win over Denmark and will be hoping to secure a starting place against Wales tonight in Wrexham and repeat the 2-0 win registered at Ewood Park in October.

"We're joint top of the group and doing well," reasoned the central defender. "Hopefully I will get some action in one of the games and we can carry on with how we've been doing.

"I think the top teams go into a play-off so you are not guaranteed to go through. It is going to be difficult but with the squad we've got we are more than capable of doing the business.

"We played Wales up at Blackburn last season, they hit the post early on and it could have been a different game. I'm sure they'll make it difficult for us but we are aiming for the right result."

"We drew 2-2 with Germany at Hull and were unlucky not to win. It will be hard in Germany but we've got more than enough in our team to create chances and score goals."

Former Spur Peter Taylor coaches the England under-21s and Calum is a big of the Hull City manager.

"He likes his teams to play good football and all his coaching is about getting the ball down and playing. His record speaks for itself and he has done a great job with England so far."
