Defender Philip Ifil (pictured) has been selected to play for the England Under-19s against the Czech Republic in the international match on Wednesday, October 6, at Norwich City. Three of our youngsters have also been called into the England Under-17 squad for the match away to Slovenia on October 7. Goalkeeper David Button, midfielder Joe Martin and defender Leigh Mills have all been selected for the friendly international in Ljubljana.
Frank Arnesen paid a visit to Myddleton House to watch our Under-16s’ successful Academy match against Ipswich Town. Our Sporting Director was very impressed with the boys and the facilities during his first visit there.
Our Under-14 side, coached by Gary Issot, recently entertained a touring Australian Select Team at Myddleton House. The match was arranged through the Professional Footballers’ Association.
Second Year Academy player Charlie Lee made a welcome return to training last week, following a long lay off through injury. The midfielder had an operation to repair a bone in his wrist, sustained during a fall, towards the end of July and came on as substitute against Aston Villa on Saturday. Meanwhile, First Year student Nathan Peprah is making good progress, in his treatment and rehabilitation with a knee problem.
