PLENTY OF smiles at Tuesday's event

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

PLENTY OF smiles at Tuesday's event.

Naturally, it all started in the tunnel where, like Michael Dawson at Fulham, Jermain Defoe and Peter Crouch fell for the 'you go out first, we'll all hang back' gag.

Just in case you don't know what we're talking about, basically, the team gathers in the tunnel before going out to warm-up, the skipper says 'okay, come on lads' and leads the team out. At least, that's what he thinks. In reality, the rest of the team has ducked back inside the tunnel and left the skipper to run out on his own!

'Daws' was caught a cracker at Craven Cottage - he got at least 30 yards onto the pitch before realising - and JD and Crouchy fell victim on Tuesday, although they realised what was going on just before they sprinted right out into the main arena.

Check out the first few seconds of our exclusive video in the player above to see the plan in action!

(And by the way, study the photograph below and it looks suspiciously like Jimmy Walker doing the organising!)

HEURELHO GOMES and the goalkeepers led the banter as they claimed to concede only four goals in the crossing and finishing routune and then just six in shooting practice.

Xtra wasn't counting, but Gomes made a point of telling coach Les Ferdinand at the end of that part of the session.

Les wasn't having it though and when he relayed the goalkeepers' totals to Luka Modric, the look on his face was akin to someone nicking his last Rolo.

Goalkeepers do make a point of this sort of thing though, and Gomes told us afterwards. "The goalkeepers are on top," he said. "We saved everything today."
