Pleat's pat on the back
Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
David Pleat said the lads deserved a 'pat on the back' after another thrilling victory at Charlton last night.
After two 4-3 results in succession - the 4-3 FA Cup defeat against City followed by Saturday's 4-3 win against Pompey - the 4-2 victory at The Valley made it 20 goals in three aazing games in a week. It will be the week few will forget.
Simon Davies, Jermain Defoe with his second goal in two starts and Ledley King put us 3-0 up only for Charlton to hit back through Graham Stuart and Chris Perry to make it 3-2 with 10 minutes left.
But John Jackson's thunderbolt five minutes later made sure the points were going back to the Lane as we registered a fifth win in six Premiership outings.
"I am delighted, absolutely thrilled," said acting boss David. "We've had every emotion and we're still standing.
"In seven days the highs and lows couldn't have been more colourful. I thought the boys were fantastic. You have to give credit to our players, you have to pat them on the back.
"Over Christmas we lost 1-0 at home to Charlton but outplayed them and got no credit for it, and that defeat stayed with us.
"That's why I was thrilled for them. Our supporters responded, we reacted well and played a lot of football on the grass, where it is meant to be played. I thought our passing was good, not great, but good. We played well."
