Pleat on City

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

David Pleat doesn't believe Kevin Keegan will ever change his attack-minded approach to the game.

Caretaker boss David comes up against the former England manager in what promises to be a Premiership cracker against Manchester City on Sunday.

Keegan has taken his squad up a few rungs of the Premiership ladder with the likes of David Seaman, Trevor Sinclair and Steve McManaman coming through the entrance door of the new City of Manchester Stadium.

"The philosophy of Kevin Keegan won't change," insisted David this afternoon. "He tells everyone it's attack and be damned but he's aware of the back door as well.

"He does go for attacking players and has always been a positive thinker - a positive forward thinker."

David recalled the last time he came up against arguably the biggest of City's arrivals - former Liverpool and Real Madrid star McManaman.

"The last time I played against McManaman was when I was at Sheffield Wednesday and we used a man marker against him, so that's the respect we had for him," he said. "We only did that with three players - Bergkamp, Zola and McManaman.

"I don't think we'll sacrifice anyone to do that this time, although he remains a good player.

"Wanchope can do things, Anekla is quick and can get behind people and Wright-Phillips is good, I like him. Sinclair as well. You have to respect them. There is quality there, no doubt about it."
