Pleat: Macca can

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

David Pleat hasn't a bad word to say about Gary McAllister - he's convinced he can turn Coventry's fortunes around.

A wonderfully technical player, McAllister - who could line-up against us in the Carling Cup clash tonight - has been in charge at Highfield Road for almost 18 months.

McAllister arrived in England from Motherwell at Leicester City, where he was managed by our caretaker boss David before moving to a title-winning spell at Leeds United, Coventry as a player and a golden era at Liverpool, where he helped the Anfield side win five trophies in 2001-2002.

Appointed boss at Coventry in April 2002, he's had to pick up the pieces from City's relegation from the Premiership.

"He's top class as a guy," said David. "He helped revolutionise Leeds from a longer ball type of team with Gordon Strachan and they changed the whole mode of play with the clever management of Howard Wilkinson.

"Gary's a super guy, terrific management material, spot on. It's ironic this first game is against him. I lost three major players at Leicester over a two-year period and he was one of them. He's a fantastic pro - everything about him.

"Coventry have good people in charge. Eric Black is a good coach with top potential and Gary Mills, who was also with me at Leicester City for a while.

"They had a hit a couple of years ago but they will slowly recover, Gary will make sure of that."
