Players stepped up - Andre

Andre Villas-Boas was pleased with a number of individual performances in Sunday's 2-2 draw against Everton.

Emmanuel Adebayor opened the scoring inside a minute but Everton replied through Phil Jagielka on 15 minutes and took the lead via Kevin Mirallas' individual strike on 53 minutes.

We continued to pile on the pressure and our efforts were eventually rewarded three minutes from time when Gylfi Sigurdsson slotted home from close range.

"There were some good individual performances," said Andre. "We have players out and that gives other players the opportunity to step up.

"We saw Lewis Holtby step up a level, Gylfi Sigurdsson is increasing his form, Emmanuel Adebayor has been impressive and is back to his goalscoring ways, Tom Huddlestone and Tom Carroll both did well when they came into the game.

"I think this is a stimulus for everyone, it means we have players we can count on and that may be a decisive factor."
