Attacking the ball from our set-piece...
When I'm attacking a free-kick or corner, the first thing I do is really learn about the regular taker. Six or seven times out of 10 the cross will then be similar and you can understand the flight of the ball, the pace of the ball, where it will go with the signs that we use. You know if it is Darren Anderton or Christan Ziege it will be strong and whip in, so you attack the near post. If it's Tano it will be different, perhaps a little higher and more in the space. It's up to you to know.
Then I have to get free of the defender. That is hard. They are pulling your shirt, holding you, it is tough. It's funny - if they do to you it is never a penalty but if you do exactly the same to them, it is always a foul! I try to move early, not too early, to lose the defender.
You also have to read the game though. There are two parts to it as well, the first header and the second ball. Maybe because I played as a striker, I know about these things. It is natural to me, instinctive. When I played at Real Zaragoza, one striker was Fernando Morientes and I played just behind. I said to him to make his decision first from a corner or free-kick, to go to the front or back post, and I will follow behind. I think he scored 16 and me 14 that season.
So the key things are know the taker, move early and try to lose your defender and then all the usual things for heading a ball - keep your eye on the ball and attack it.
