Play Safe Trophy
Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
Every year, over 90% of all reported acts of railway vandalism are committed by young people who are often bored, disillusioned and at a loose end.
In attempt to keep young people motivated and occupied, Network Rail and Football in the Community have set up the 'Play Safe Trophy' which brings together Football in the Community schemes from across the country.
Coldfall Primary School earned the opportunity to represent Tottenham Hotspur FITC in the area final by defeating several Haringey schools in a local tournament. The Muswell Hill school finished fourth in the area finals which were held in Norwich last week.
Dave Palmer, Regional Manager for PFA Football in the Community said: "The players were full of enthusiasm for representing their school, club and community. All the games were played with an excellent spirit. Seven out of the nine teams are funded by Network Rail on a local level. This makes a tremendous difference."
The Girls' 'Play Safe Trophy' is taking place over the next few weeks and we would like to wish Park View Academy the best of luck.
