Perry primed for Sunday

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

All the pieces have fallen into place so far in Chris Perry's recovery from a nasty calf injury - now he has to wait for George Graham to complete the jigsaw on Sunday by giving him the nod to take his place in our rearguard.

Chris sustained a gash on his calf so deep in a 50-50 challenge at Manchester City on February 10, that it required internal and external stitches to assist the healing process.

On being told to do nothing for a fortnight, the dogged defender immediately set his sights on the Big One at Upton Park.

Chris knows that scenario is not entirely in his hands, but he is happy to have put himself back in contention for a first team berth with a solid performance for the reserves in the goalless draw with Charlton.

"Everything went to plan," said Chris. "Obviously we didn’t win but as far as the injury was concerned I played 80 minutes and got through the game okay. The injury is fine.

"I just wanted to get the game under my belt and put myself into contention for Sunday. It’s up to the manager now as to whether or not he picks me.

"These are the sort of games you want to play in, FA Cup quarter-finals and my aim, as soon as I was injured, was to get back for that game. Luckily it’s worked out well. The specialist said I could return to full training on Monday and I’ve got a game under my belt so it’s all gone well.

"This is a massive game for the whole of the season. That probably goes for West Ham as well — it’s probably the biggest game either of us have played this season and whoever wins is through to the semi-final with a great chance of getting to Cardiff for the final."
