Perfect test - Ade

Emmanuel Adebayor insists we 'couldn’t have a better challenge' than facing champions Manchester United at the Lane on Sunday as we bid to bounce back from last week’s derby defeat at Arsenal.

The striker looked to have put us on the road to victory at the Emirates when he slotted home a penalty for a 2-0 lead in the 33rd minute.

Fans won’t need reminding what happened from there as the Gunners turned the game around to inflict only our third defeat in our last 24 matches in the Premier League.

We still sit third as we prepare for what is always one of the games of the season with Sir Alex Ferguson’s perennial title-contenders at the Lane for a 4.10pm kick-off on Sunday.

“It will be tough but we’re ready for it, looking forward to it and we have to show our character and personality to bounce back as quickly as possible,” said Ade, who now has 11 goals in 23 league starts for us.

“Arsenal was a tough one to take, the defeat is hard but we’re footballers, we have to stay focused and we’re now back at home against United, especially in front of our fans we have to show character and try to win that game.”
