Juande Ramos described our Carling Cup demolition of Arsenal as 'perfect'.

A 5-1 second leg scoreline secured an overall victory of 6-2 on aggregate and we will now play the winners of Wednesday night's semi-final between Everton and Chelsea (Chelsea lead 2-1) in the final at Wembley on February 24.

For the record, it was our first win over Arsenal since 1999 and will be our first visit to Wembley since 1999 with our last final appearance in the same competition in 2002.

Jermaine Jenas set the tone as early as the third minute and we didn't just capitalise on that early lead, we thrived on it. Nicklas Bendtner's own goal made it 2-0 at half-time and when Robbie Keane and Aaron Lennon struck it was all over at 4-0 before the hour mark.

Emmanuel Adebayor pulled a goal back but it was our night and Steed Malbranque finished it off with the fifth in injury time.

A delighted Juande beamed: "To beat Arsenal and reach a final in such a short space of time (since taking over) is a fantastic achievement and even more so for the fans - it's a long time since they had the flavour of a final so that makes it all the more satisfying.

"Arsenal are one of the biggest teams around to so beat them is tremendously satisfying, even more so as they are our city rivals.

"You have to play well to beat a team like Arsenal and we did that, there were no mistakes - it was perfect in all areas. The effort the players have put in to reach this final has been fantastic. They are the true architects of the victory."
