Gareth Bale believes he has made the perfect move in joining a club he predicts has a bright future ahead. The 17-year-old Wales international signed up last week from Southampton where, after making two appearances at the end of season 2005-06, he featured in 43 fixtures last term for the Championship side.
A Spurs shirt and the Premiership now awaits for the attacking and naturally left-footed full-back.
"Tottenham are a top club with young players so hopefully I will settle in quickly and it will be a big experience for me," he responded at Spurs Lodge when asked for his impressions.
"It is a friendly club pushing forward, having finished fifth for the past two years. The young players here are progressing and the future looks bright with them doing well in the Premiership.
"It is the perfect club for me," he added, before considering the prospect of transferring his attacking sorties down the left flank and set piece deliveries to the Premiership stage.
"It is my position and my aim is to get a place and hopefully get a good run in the team.
"There are things I've been practicing in training and it has paid off on the pitch - hopefully I can keep doing it!
"I don't know about being a specialist at set pieces but I will keep working on it and hopefully it will come together. Everybody likes scoring goals and if I keep doing what I have been then hopefully it will pay off in a Tottenham shirt.
"It hasn't all really sunk in yet, but I am looking forward to it and can't wait to start playing."
