Pedro: That's why I'm here
Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
Pedro Mendes could barely stop smiling in the tunnel after the Liverpool game and declared: "That's why I moved here."
The Portuguese midfielder was one of seven debutants, six in the starting line-up, for our Premiership opener against the Anfield side.
After a host of pre-season friendlies, there was certainly a sense of 'the real thing' for the newcomers as they ran out to a 35,000 crowd at the Lane on Saturday.
In the end the spoils were shared in a 1-1 draw as Jermain Defoe levelled Djibril Cisse's opener.
"It was an amazing game," said Pedro, a Champions League winner last season with FC Porto. " It was an amazing atmosphere, a fantastic environment and I really enjoyed it.
"When I walked up to the pitch and heard the crowd I knew everything was worth it - going to another country, another culture, that match was what it was all about."
Not surprisingly, the hectic pace of the Premiership was somewhat different to what Pedro is used to. "Yes, it was a very quick game, very physical and very different from Portugal.
"It was hard work but although it was very quick, I also thought we passed the ball quite well, especially in the second half.
"Liverpool were the better team in the first half although it we were still disappointed with how we conceded. We spoke at half-time and we all knew we had to do better. We did that and I thought a draw was fair in the end."
