Pat's Rover the moon!
Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
Coach Pat Holland revelled in a deserved win for his side over Blackburn after settling the team following an anxious first half.
A two-legged Youth Cup semi-final against Everton now awaits for the boys after second half goals from Lee Barnard and John Sutton provided the passport at the Lane.
"The first half we were a little bit anxious," reflected Pat. "We tried to settle them down before the game, but it was their first time at the ground this year and I don't think they done themselves justice.
"I think they worked hard. We just told them to calm down at half time, try and pass the ball, relax and get the ball in wide areas because both Nicky (Wettner) and Lee are capable of getting beyond people.
"I think they started to play after that. The first goal was the one that settled it, once they got the goal it settled their nerves and I think, at the end of the day, they deserved it."
Pat agreed that the team were perhaps on edge during the first period while they became accustomed to playing in front of a large and noisy crowd.
"We forget that they're only 17 or 18. It was a great crowd, the best one since I've been here. The noise they made was excellent.
"That's what they need, we need to find out if they can play in that sort of atmosphere.
They were both good goals. Lee fully deserved it, he worked so hard - up and down. John got through a sea of bodies to get his header in.
"A lot of credit to the kids. Hopefully now it will settle them down for the semi-final."
