Spurs U19s 2-1 Bristol City
Coach Pat Holland was delighted after his side bounced back in style from last week's 4-0 defeat at Watford.
He was particularly pleased with the performance of a new defensive system of Stephen Kelly, Danny Foster and Marcel McKie in the centre and Nicky Wettner and Danny Perry as wing-backs.
Mario Noto met McKie's cross perfectly to open the scoring after 30 minutes and Jamie Slabber cut in from the left to beat the goalkeeper at the near post to double the scoreline after 65 minutes.
City pulled a goal back with three minutes remaining but the lads held on for maximum points.
"I was pleased with how the came back after last week," said Pat. "We played three at the back for the first time this season and they looked comfortable until the last 15 minutes.
"Overall though it was a good performance and result and the influence of the under-19 boys in there, Rob Burch, Steve Kelly and Dean Marney, was particularly pleasing."
Spurs U19s: Burch, Perry, McKie, Black, Kelly, Foster, Marney, Yeates, Slabber, Noto, Wettner. Unused subs: Bowditch, Rutherford, Barnett, Ford.
