Patience pays off for Kyle
Patience has been a virtue for Kyle Naughton - and now he's reaping his reward.
The full-back is enjoying his first consistent run in the team after initially joining us from Sheffield United in July, 2009.
Since then, he's had successful loans at Middlesbrough, Leicester City and most notably Norwich City in the Premier League last term before taking his chance this season at Spurs.
His appearance against Coventry City in the FA Cup took his tally to 15 in all competitions, including starting 12 of our last 19 matches.
Kyle has impressed in a left-back role, sharing that slot with Jan Vertonghen in Benoit Assou-Ekotto's absence.
"I have had to be patient here at Spurs, it’s taken a few years to get a run in the side, but the gaffer seems to like the way I play, he’s giving me a chance and it’s up to me now to take it," said Kyle, as featured in our official matchday programme against the Sky Blues.
"I’ve played a few games lately and it’s great to get consecutive matches.
"I’ve been pleased with my performances, but the main thing for me is that the team got the points over the busy festive period.
"Hopefully we can keep doing well and I can stay in the team for a few more games.”
