Patience is the key
Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
John Gorman reasons that, given the recent profile and publicity afforded to the team, they will have to work all the harder to break down Middlesbrough on Saturday.
Sparkling recent performances against Derby and Newcastle are likely to ensure that visitors to the Lane are not going to be brimming with attacking intent.
John feels that Boro are probably going to put up the barricades and the boys will have to be patient and stick to their gameplan if a positive result is to be achieved.
"Well they will, but to be fair, it won't be any more than Derby did in all honesty," pondered John. "We had to break them down and be patient with our passing and we still created great opportunities.
"We have to expect something similar when we play Middlesbrough. They are very dangerous on the break, Glenn and I watched them at Charlton in their last away game and Boksic up front in particular is a wonderful player."
However, John does take the view that if a team arrives with the objective of not conceding and trying to nick one on the break, it is a sort of a compliment to the way the team has been playing.
"We've got to accept that and it's good because it is respect for us, isn't it? They're not coming here with us thinking they are going to have a real go at us. If they do it would be good because we'd have spaces to go at.
"We work in training on that style of play, where we have to break teams down who play that way. You have to expect that now and expect that teams will try and hit you on the break.
"You've got to be ready for that and be concentrated, but most of all, continue to play in the way we believe in."
