Pat: Plenty to look forward to
Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
Pat Holland pushed aside his disappointment at Thursday's FA Youth Cup exit at Middlesbrough and insisted the club has plenty to look forward to for next season's campaign.
Our Academy Under-18 side were agonisingly knocked out of the competition at the quarter-final stage by a deflected goal at the Riverside Stadium.
It was hard luck on the lads after they'd dominated the first hour - Boro's winner was only their second shot on goal in the first 70 minutes - and then saw David Tyrie's last-minute 'goal' ruled out for handball.
Coach Pat Holland took heart from the run to the last eight and is already looking forward to next term.
He reflected: "When you get to this stage you tend to get caught up in the whole competition and it really makes the season crack on.
"I haven't been disappointed like this for a long time to be honest.
"I just felt you have to push on, get behind people and sometimes players have to sense that.
"I watched Middlesbrough at Luton and they are a young side but in fairness, so are we and we fielded two schoolboys as well.
"One of those schoolboys Jamie O'Hara was excellent out there, coped with it all really well and that was a real plus.
"They've done well and there is ability in the side. Two of those lads had been released and did superbly well and that's testament to them but we've a couple of schoolboys, the first years and now we build for next season.
"We've a few games for the Under-19s and it's important we keep going at this stage. We'll introduce a few lads in and it will be an opportunity for them."
