Pat on Baggies test/Youth Cup date

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Our FA Youth Cup Third Round tie against West Bromwich Albion will be played at the Hawthorns on Tuesday 25 November 2003, kick off 7.00.

The game will be settled on the night, with extra time and penalties if required.

PAT HOLLAND SHOULD have known another away tie was on the cards when the draw for the FA Youth Cup third round saw to it that we travel to West Bromwich Albion.

The game will be played on 25 November and Pat will soon begin preparations for another cup away-day.

"Nothing like an away game, is there?" he responded to the draw. "We do it the hard way!"

Pat's under-18 teams have played in ten youth cup games in the past two seasons and just three of those (one being the second leg of a semi-final) has been played at White Hart Lane.

The semi-final and quarter-final stage has been reached in those seasons and Pat is quietly confident that his current crop of youngsters can make their own mark on the competition.

"I don't suppose there is the feeling that this side is going to be as successful as the two previous years but, the way the season is panning out, I am quite hopeful that we will get a run together.

"I think we've got one or two outstanding players and, if we can get the team together which is difficult with an under-18 side, I am quite optimistic.

"We know the first game will be difficult even though we don't know that much about West Brom yet. We will try and get along to see them play and we have a free Saturday soon. I will also hunt for a video and I quite enjoy that side of it as you don't get to do it much at youth level.

"Physically, the group that got to the semi-final was the strongest we've had for quite a few years in terms of height and strength. The next two groups haven't matched up in that sense and need to be clever.

"We've got good players now and I am quietly optimistic. We have players that played in the competition last year and that is useful experience."
