Parksy wins award
15 December 2013|Tottenham Hotspur
First Team Goalkeeping Coach Tony Parks last night won a coaching award at the inaugural FA Licensed Coaches’ Club Awards.
Tony, who famously saved the crucial spot kick as we won the 1984 UEFA Cup final in a dramatic penalty shootout, was chosen from three nominees for the Goalkeeper Coach of the Year award – and collected his trophy at a ceremony at St George’s Park last night.
The FA Licensed Coaches’ Club Awards recognise coaches from across the game, from grassroots level all the way up to the top flight.
Tony made 49 appearances in total for us between 1982 and 1988 before returning to the Club as our Goalkeeping Coach in 2008, having spent six years working in a similar position with the Football Association where he looked after the coaching of all goalkeepers within the England youth teams.
