Parker on Toon test

Scott Parker knows we're in for a tough test against his former club Newcastle at White Hart Lane on Saturday - but insists it's another game we're looking to win.

Newcastle arrive at the Lane in fine form.

They've won four of their last five matches in the Premier League and recovered from the 5-2 loss at Fulham with wins against Blackburn and Villa to sit fifth in the table.

We've lost just two of our last 22 league games so it's third against fifth, kicking-off at 5.30pm.

"I'm sure it will be a great game," said Scott. "Newcastle are in good form, they are doing well and it will be tough.

"We're at home and we look forward to it. We're strong at home.

"Newcastle have got a good squad and a very good manager who is organised and it will be a difficult game, but we'll look to win it."

Scott performed admirably in Monday's goalless draw at Liverpool, the latest in a run of key games that has included City and Liverpool away, Newcastle at home next and then a trip to Arsenal (February 26) and United at home (March 4).

"It's been a fantastic season and there is still a long way to go," added Scott.

"We need to stay strong and to build on what we've done.

"We've missed key players as well, we've got a lot of players out. I'm excited with what's in progress here and looking forward to the remaining games."
