Parker back for Leds' Testimonial

09 May 2014|Tottenham Hotspur

We can reveal that Scott Parker is the latest former favourite to sign up for the Guest XI side at Ledley King's Testimonial match.

The combative midfielder enjoyed a two-season spell at the Lane after joining us from West Ham in 2011 and made 63 appearances in our colours.

In his first season he was voted Player of the Season by the supporters as the team finished the campaign in fourth place.

"I'm thrilled to be coming back to the Lane to play in this game for Ledley and it will be really special to pull on a Spurs shirt again for such an occasion," said the Fulham player today.

"Right from the day I joined, Ledley never ceased to amaze me with his incredible ability, not to mention how he managed to reach such levels of performance given the circumstances with his preparations for games.

"He was an unbelievable captain for us, a combination of being a great leader, player and person - something you do not find too often."

Scott's former Spurs teammate Louis Saha, who played for us in 2012 after joining from Everton, will also take to the field against our first team on Monday night in a Ledley side that includes the likes of Edgar Davids, David Ginola, Teddy Sheringham, Darren Anderton, Peter Crouch, Paul Robinson and Dimitar Berbatov, as well as the King himself.

"I'm so happy and honoured to be part of Ledley King's testimonial," said the striker capped 20 times by France.

"I'm glad to have the opportunity to thank him for the help he gave me during my adaptation at the Club.

“Ledley is a real gent, a real leader, a real captain and a true legend whose immense talent always shone through."
