Paralympians do us proud
23 September 2016|Tottenham Hotspur
We welcomed our Olympic heroes to Wembley last week and we now celebrate the achievements of the Spurs fans that achieved success at the Paralympics in Rio during the last fortnight.
Richard Whitehead MBE won a second consecutive Paralympic gold in the T42 200m, following it up with silver in the 100m event a few days later.
Meanwhile, Pam Relph also won a second consecutive gold in the LTA coxed fours rowing event and Tom Aggar overcame the disappointment of missing out on a medal in London four years ago with a bronze in the men’s singles scull.
Team GB achieved a total of 64 Paralympic gold medals at Rio 2016 – the most by a British team since 1988 – with a total medal haul of 147, comfortably surpassing the tally from London 2012.
