Palace vs Spurs - team news

Andre Villas-Boas says he will make a late decision on the fitness of Jan Vertonghen ahead of our season opener at Palace on Sunday.
The Belgian international has been out since damaging his ankle against Sunderland in the Barclays Asia Trophy on July 24.
“Let’s wait and see on Jan,” said Andre after training on Friday. “He’s made good progress so there is a small chance he could make the squad.”
Etienne Capoue is likely to be part of the squad for the first time - Andre will finalise the squad after training on Saturday - with summer recruits Paulinho, Nacer Chadli and Roberto Soldado all available for Premier League debuts.
On Etienne, Andre commented: “He’s looking extremely good. He only played 20 minutes for France so he was able to train fully today and he did very well. There have been some good signs from him.”
Lewis Holtby (knee) and Gareth Bale (foot) remain out.
