Palace vs Spurs - Mauricio's preview
10 January 2015|Tottenham Hotspur
Mauricio Pochettino feels Palace's change of manager makes it all the more important that we focus on our own game at Selhurst Park this evening (Saturday, January 10, kick-off 5.30pm).
Alan Pardew switched the Magpies for the Eagles last week and kicked-off the latest chapter of his managerial career with a convincing FA Cup win at Dover.
We have turned into the second half of the campaign and into 2015 in good form – just one defeat in the last nine in the Premier League, at Chelsea, and the fine 5-3 win in the return against the Blues on New Year’s Day took us up to fifth in the Premier League.
“It’s a tough game, Palace are a good team and they’ve now changed their manager, so that’s always a danger,” stated Mauricio.
“We always analyse the games but now it’s a new manager, new ideas, maybe a different system and with that in mind, it’s important how we are and that we try to be better than the opponent.
“We need to keep our level of performance, our mentality and character and to show we are strong. It’s important to show that against Palace.
“We’re in a good moment and we need to continue in the same way.”
